Liz DeKoninck

Elizabeth (Liz) DeKoninck is the Vice President and has been with Halakar since 2015. Liz has more than 6 years of commercial real estate experience with a background in property management.

In addition to assisting the CEO in the oversight of business operations, Liz represents landlords and tenants in industrial and office transactions. From leasing industrial and office spaces to selling retail buildings, Liz has had experience in both the lease and sale sides of the business. Liz’s prior experience in property management allows her to provide her clients with invaluable information during the leasing and sales process.

Emily Franklin

Emily began her career at Halakar in 2022 as Controller.  She has 15 years of commercial real estate and construction lead accounting experience.  Emily is tasked with leading our accounting team, implementing best practices, and streamlining our accounting processes.  In addition to overseeing and managing all accounting-related tasks, she assists with budget preparation, maintaining our accounting software, and handling any special accounting projects directed by the CEO.

Emily has been married for 26 years with 3 children and 3 dogs.  Her hobbies include gardening, making paperweights, planning parties, and going to thrift shops.

She graduated with distinction from IUPUI Kelley School of Business with a bachelor of science in accounting.

Tammy Gonzalez

Tammy Gonzalez joined Halakar in December of 2018 as a Property Administrator.  She was promoted to Assistant Property Manager in June of 2022.  She assists the property management team by supporting the Sr. Property Manager, managing tenant requests, certificates of insurance, maintenance coordination, and other intricate roles.

Tammy brings with her ten years of property management experience and prides herself in her strength of leadership through service.  She goes above and beyond to help anyone with any need, and has excellent communication and organizational skills.  Tammy has a reputation for having high standards in her work and is an integral part of the property management team.

Gina Hughes

Gina Hughes joined Halakar in February of 2015 as Office Manager and EA to the CEO.  Since that time, she has also assumed the responsibilities of Brokerage Support and Marketing.   She manages the office’s operational needs including Human Resources, recruiting, company events, I.T., and supplies.  Gina oversees company marketing initiatives, property listings, and supports the brokerage team administratively.

Prior to joining the company, Ms. Hughes worked in the Global Learning and Development Department in HR at ExactTarget/Salesforce.  Earlier, she held HR positions in Recruiting and in Global Learning and Development at Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM).

Ms. Hughes’s 30+ years of varied experience includes process development and improvement, adult learning, onboarding, database creation and administration, surveying/metrics, recruiting, event coordination, negotiation, talent management systems, e-learning module creation and implementation, learning management systems, behavioral assessment administration, and HR special projects.

An example of her proven expertise is successfully onboarding over 2,000 global new hires and coordinating two employee orientation events per month during a 2 year and 7 month time period at ExactTarget. This also included travel, communications, IT equipment, and desk needs for every new hire. Simultaneously, she coordinated all other company learning and development events as well as supporting her team administratively.

Andrea Lipps

Andrea Lipps began her career with Halakar in January 2013. She currently assists on the property management team with a commercial portfolio that includes office, retail and industrial facilities totaling more than 1 million square feet. Her responsibilities include tenant relations, vendor communications, and administrative support to the property management team. Mrs. Lipps’s outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are among her strongest assets, all greatly contributing to the exceptional rapport of the company.

Todd J. Maurer, JD

Todd Maurer is the Chief Executive Officer of Halakar. He began his professional career as a lawyer specializing in bankruptcy and foreclosure law at Rubin & Levin in Indianapolis. Mr. Maurer focuses his commercial brokerage work in the office and industrial field. He also serves as CEO of the Property Management Division and has represented some of the top companies in Indianapolis, with a specialized focus on the legal field.

Mr. Maurer is the CEO of Grey Street Properties, LLC, a development company with current and past holdings in the industrial, retail and office sectors with over two million square feet.

An active industry and community leader, Mr. Maurer has an extensive roster of memberships and honors. He is a past President of the Jewish Community Relations Council and is or was on the boards of some of the most important organizations in Indianapolis.

Mr. Maurer has been recognized for his achievements by the Indianapolis Business Journal, who named him part of the 40 under 40 in 2007. In 2010, he received the LL Goodman leadership award. He was also a part of the Stanley K. Lacy Leadership series. Some of his extensive honors and memberships include:

Mr. Maurer received his legal degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas, in Austin.

G. Bryan Miller, JD

G. Bryan Miller started his business career as a sales representative and manager for Procter & Gamble Company in the Cincinnati and Detroit markets.  Prior to joining Halakar, Mr. Miller was a second vice president with Cassidy Turley.  Over the past 14 years, he has closed some 350 commercial real estate transactions totaling $140 million in value.  Within the last few years, Mr. Miller has acted as the local representative for 1.4 million square feet of commercial space on behalf of its ownership.

Jennifer Parvis

Jennifer Parvis joined the Halakar accounting team in 2021.  She is responsible for all property management accounts payable functions and assists with accounts receivable.  She also handles vendor setup, tenant billbacks, special accounting projects, and utility bill tracking.  Jennifer enjoys resolving accounting issues and prides herself on her outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.  She brings over 20 years of accounting experience to Halakar, making her a valuable asset to our team.

Jennie Smith, CPM

Jennie has over 15 years experience in commercial real estate with a solid history of success. Joining Halakar in February 2018 as a Sr. Property Manager, she currently oversees a commercial portfolio that includes office, retail and industrial facilities totaling more than 1.5 million square feet.

Her property management responsibilities include financial analysis and reporting, lease administration, budget preparation, CAM reconciliations, operations, vendor management, contract negotiations, coordination of tenant and capital improvement projects, and team leadership.

Prior to joining Halakar, Jennie spent 8 years with Cushman & Wakefield managing portfolios of office, industrial, and retail facilities. She began her real estate career with Kite Reality Group in 2005.
